A.M. Best recently affirmed the financial strength ratings of A- and issuer credit ratings of "a-" of Nodak Mutual Group and its member company, Nodak Mutual Insurance Company

In addition, the rating agency assigned a financial strength rating of A- and an issuer credit rating of "a-" to Battle Creek Mutual Insurance Company, following its March 4 affiliation and April 1 quota share reinsurance agreements with Nodak Mutual Insurance.

The outlook for these ratings is positive.

Concurrently, the agency upgraded the issuer credit ratings to "bbb+" from "bbb" and affirmed the financial strength rating of B++ of Nodak Mutual Insurance's wholly owned and separately rated subsidiary, American West Insurance Company, with a stable outlook for both.

A.M. Best attributed the ratings of Nodak Mutual Group to its "solid capitalization, strong operating results and business profile as one of the leading writers" of P&C insurance in North Dakota.
